VR Sessions

VR Sessions

Using VR Sessions, you can play content on all of your VR headsets, allowing the whole class to experience the same content simultaneously.  You can play, pause, and stop the content at any time, and also monitor what each student is seeing in their headset while they are in the session.

Start a VR Session

From your teacher account at app.umety.com,
  1. Choose a class.
  2. Select the VR Session tab.
  3. Choose a user-based or device-based session.
  4. You should then see all of the students in the class or devices registered with your school.
  5. As students connect, you will see them move from disconnected to connected, and you should start seeing images of the students' views in the devices.  Note that the images only update when the students are actively moving their devices.

Have Students Join the Session

In the Umety Classroom VR app, students must:
  1. Click on the VR Session option in the Footer Menu

Playing Content

Choose a playlist from the list on the left and then click on any content item.  You can select any of the content that has been added to your class.

Once you select your content, you will see the Play, Pause and Stop buttons, which will send those commands to all connected devices.  You can also switch between a Preview tab, which allows you to view the selected content in your browser window, and a Monitor tab, which lets you see what each student is seeing in their device.

  2. Click the Switch to Flat Image button.
  3. Click on any point in the image and see that the point is marked with a red dot.
